Back open and busy- life after the coronavirus

After months off of work were back open and the beauty business is booming!

It was a strain on our businesses, finances and our minds but now were open we can concentrate on getting our clients back though the door into routine.

Marketing tips and working hours:

Take some time to re visit our old blog post on ‘How to launch a beauty business.’ Even though its about launching a business its a great starting point back to basics about spreading the word of your hair or beauty business.

What hours are you working? Do you have set hours? Ensure your not adding in extra time that you cannot cope with. We need to make sure were not over worked and we give our best services to our clients to ensure they are relaxed, refreshed and pampered. Take sometime yourself to be pampered too! We always forget ourselves.

Minimum wage increase:

As of April 2020 the national minimum wage will increase. See the government guidelines here.

If you’ve been on my training courses you will remember how to work out your treatment costings, to find out your profit and ensure your prices are set correctly. Here’s a little reminder:

Hourly wage + product cost = £ – price of treatment = profit

Example:

1 hour shellac manicure

£8.72 + shellac manicure cost £4= £12.72= Treatment charge £25 = £12.28 profit.

You obviously have to take out running costs which can include insurance, training, consumables, marketing and much more.
