Faking it all year round

Let’s start at the beginning,

Spray tanning is a form of self tanning (or sunless tanning) where a fine mist is sprayed onto your body.

This mist has an ingredient in it called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that mixes with your own skin’s chemistry to make it tan.

This effect generally lasts from 3-7 days and is completely safe for your skin (but it doesn’t provide any protection against the sun’s rays).

The results you can get from tanning sprays are generally very good.  Many celebrities and models prefer spray tanning , making it the safer way to tan.

Spray Tan Prep

  1. Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. Tjhis will ensure your tan applys more even and lasts longer
  2. Wax/shave 24-48 hurs before to ensure pores are closed
  3. Moisturise regularly to ensure skin is hydrated
  4. Remove any products on the skin to avoid it mixing with the tan
  5.  Wear dark loose clothing to your appointment along with open toe shoes

At your appointment

Your therapist will apply barrier cream to dry areas, toes, hands, feet and heels to avoid staining oily areas. She will have sticky feet ready, a hair net to protect your hair and disposable knickers to get the smallest white bits and avoid staining your clothes. The therapist will let you know all the instructions whilst carrying out the spray tan.

After your tanning session

  1. Avoid light coloured fabrics
  2. Avoid washing off the tan until the recommended time your therapist tells you to
  3. Do not wax or shave until your first shower
  4. Do not swim, gym, steam or sauna until after your first show
  5. Moisturise regularly with an oil free moisturiser to prolong your tan.

Its best to book your tanning session two days before your event. Enquire on 01708472727
