Social Media

A huge hit these days, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, along with others such as Snap Chat, LinkedIn and many more, we can gain clients through our friends family and existing clients spreading the word. Create a post or competition for your current ‘likers’ or ‘followers’ to share, to be entered into a competition to win either a voucher or treatment you choose to give away. Top Tip: Make sure you mention the competition is endorsed or sponsored by the social media page you are using. You don’t want to get into trouble!

% OFF

Do you have a quiet day, or a day you could offer as a discount day for OAPs or Students. You can offer 20% off or more if you wish, on certain treatments, or certain days to boost clients to book in for that day. Top Tip: Ensure you get proof of age.

Word of mouth/ Recommend a Friend

This is the best form of referral. If clients are happy and wish to recommend you, reward the, This could be a free mini upgrade, free treatment, discounted treatment or money off. The new client can be rewarded as well. Top Tip: Make a card for the client to give to their friend with your name and number on it along with the reward. You can then keep track of who recommended them and how you can reward that client.

Newsletter

Let you customers know they can sign up to your newsletter. You can offer a reward for signing up, either a discount or money off. Once they have subscribed you can send them information or offers on a regular basis to keep them as a loyal client. Top Tip: Do not send to many emails, clients do not like to be bombarded. Sign Up to Mailchimp here.

Loyalty Card

Loyalty cards are a great way to keep clients coming back. Offer a card, with stamps or an app to keep track of when they come in. Each visit they can get a stamp, or when they have spent a certain amount. Once the card is full they can be rewarded. Top Tip: Make sure your reward covers the amount they have spent. You have to make it worthwhile for you.

Models

Being qualified doesn’t always mean your the best in the business. Sometimes we need improvement in certain treatments to be the best we can be! Offer a certain treatment as a model price. This can be to cover your costs eg products and petrol/time. You can use this opportunity to take before and after pictures  to post to social media. Top Tip: Do not do this too regularly or on treatments your already charging full price for a clients will not believe your confident in this treatment if your offering it elsewhere at a discount for a model.

I hope those tips are enough to get you started on your new business! Comment on our social media pages for more tips and let us know if they have worked for you!
